Professional golf is a sport where individual players or teams compete by using various clubs to hit a ball into a series of holes on a course in as few strokes as possible.

Here's a brief overview: Structure -

**Courses**: Golf is played on courses with 18 holes, each featuring teeing grounds, fairways, roughs, bunkers, and putting greens. -

**Players**: Competitions involve individual players or teams, typically in stroke play (total strokes) or match play (hole-by-hole competition).

Gameplay -

**Objective**: Complete each hole in the fewest strokes possible. -

**Scoring**: Each hole has a par score (expected number of strokes), with players aiming to shoot under par. -

**Eagle**: Two strokes under par. -

**Birdie**: One stroke under par. -

**Par**: Expected number of strokes. -

**Bogey**: One stroke over par. -

**Double Bogey**: Two strokes over par.

Throughout the year:​

The PGA Tour is the organizer of professional golf tours in North America. It organizes most of the events on the flagship annual series of tournaments also known as the PGA Tour, as well as the PGA Tour Champions and the Korn Ferry Tour, as well as PGA Tour Americas.

LPGA​ The Ladies Professional Golf Association is an American organization for female golfers. The organization is headquartered at LPGA International in Daytona Beach, Florida, and is best known for running the LPGA Tour, a series of weekly golf tournaments for elite women professional golfers from around the world.

LET​ The Ladies European Tour is a professional golf tour for women which was founded in 1978. Most of the players on the tour are European, with members from more than 40 countries internationally. Despite its name, the tour also has tournaments in Africa, Asia, North America and Oceania.

DP World Tour​ The European Tour, currently titled as the DP World Tour for sponsorship reasons, and legally the PGA European Tour or the European Tour Group, is the leading men's professional golf tour in Europe.
