Darts is a precision sport where players throw small, pointed missiles (darts) at a circular target (dartboard). Here's a brief overview:

Equipment -

**Dartboard**: Divided into 20 numbered sections, with an outer bullseye (25 points) and an inner bullseye (50 points). -

**Darts**: Typically three per player, consisting of a point, barrel, shaft, and flight.

Setup - The dartboard is hung so the bullseye is 5 feet 8 inches (1.73 meters) from the floor. - Players stand behind a line (oche) 7 feet 9.25 inches (2.37 meters) from the board.

Gameplay -

**Objective**: Reduce a starting score (usually 501) to exactly zero, ending on a double. -

**Scoring**: Points are scored by hitting numbered sections, with doubles and trebles multiplying scores. - Players take turns throwing three darts each. - To win, players must reach zero by hitting a double or the bullseye on the final dart.

Popular Variations - **501**: Standard game where each player starts with 501 points. -

**301**: Quicker version with a starting score of 301. -

**Cricket**: Players aim to "close" numbers 15 through 20 and the bullseye by hitting each three times and scoring points when the numbers are closed. Darts combines skill, strategy, and precision, making it a popular sport both recreationally and competitively.
