The Tour

In total, The Lions will play in 10 matches including warm up matches and the 3 test matches against Australia.

Things kick off in a home warmup match against Argentina in Ireland on 20 June before the squad take to Australia for the first of their overseas warm up matches from 28 June.

The 3 match Test series against Australia begins on 19 July.

The Lions

The British & Irish Lions are a combined team of the best rugby players from England,Ireland, Scotland and Wales.

They tour every four years, alternating between Australia, New Zealand and South Africa.The 2025 tour heads to Australia, with a series of warm up games and three huge Test matches against The Wallabies.

The tour is a major sporting event –historic, fiercely competitive, and watched by millions worldwide.

Who to know

1. Maro Itoje(England – Captain)
A towering presence in the second row, Itoje is making his third Lions tour and leads the squad as captain.

Known for his leadership, physical dominance, and relentless work rate, he has the chance to join the elite few to captain a Lions side to a Test series win.

2. Tadhg Furlong (Ireland)
One of the world’s most respected props, Furlong anchors the scrum with immense power and experience.

On his third tour, his consistency, calm under pressure, and world-class technique make him a cornerstone of the Lions pack and a potential history-maker in the front row.

3. Henry Pollock (England)
At just 20, Pollock is the youngest player on tour and a rising star in northern hemisphere rugby.

A dynamic flanker with superb breakdown instincts and energy, a strong showing in Australia could announce his arrival on the global stage and kick-start a legendary career.

4. Finn Russell (Scotland)
Noted for his vision and creativity, Russell is a game-changer at fly-half. With experience and flair, he brings unpredictability and attacking spark.
If given the starting role in the Tests, he could be the difference between narrow defeat and iconic victory.

5. Bundee Aki (Ireland)
One of the most consistent and impactful centres in world rugby, Aki offers both defensive steel and powerful running lines.

His ability to break tackles and lead midfield communication is vital, especially against Australia’s quick, mobile backs. A potential game-winner in tight contests.
